Where can I purchase ethyl alcohol that they used in a ww11 sterno type stove?
I’m not sure what sort of stove you are referring to, but Sterno is a gel that is usually used straight from the can it comes in. You can buy Sterno cans in any grocery store or outdoors store. While stoves that burn denatured alcohol/ethanol are becoming very popular with backpackers and you can buy that in any hardware store next to the paint thinner, or even cheaper are bottles of yellow “Heet” gas line de-icer available at any auto parts store, gas station, and Wal-Mart. You can also burn drinkable grain alcohol or Everclear in alcohol stoves if you’re willing to pay the price. Here’s an overview of your choices.
