How can I stay warm when camping in -5 weather without electricity ?? I can’t use a sleeping bag.?
I need to find several ways to keep warm but I find I can’t use a sleeping bag. There is no electricity where I camp. I need more ideas then what I’ve tried. The tent is 6′ x 6′ x 8′ with a removeable floor.
I’m Claustrophobic no snow and sometimes no fire allowed and no way to get hay into the well grazed field.
The best way to stay warm is with layers. This works best if you are moving and creating some extra body heat that will continually supply/maintain the amount of heat you will need to stay warm through the night. If you are going to be stationary, (sleeping!) for long periods of time, you may want to try using an artificial source of heat. Hot packs have long been used for this purpose and are successful when used properly. If you heat your core, your whole body tends to be warmed. Wearing the heat packs around your middle can achieve this. HOTWEARS.ca has a bodyband that holds quite a few hotpacks. You may also consider getting one of the neck or head warmers to protect the heat from escaping from your head. If you then, layer your clothing over these pieces, you should stay toasty warm through the night. Hope this helps!
