Can Multicam accessories be worn with ACUs?
I recently bought a Camelbak Motherlode Multicam for my own personal, non-military use. I was wondering however if accessories using the Multicam pattern may be worn with the ACU uniform. I feel like it is not, but it’s not as if the Multicam is not tactical.
I checked 670-1 and it says that a camouflage pattern may be worn in certain occasions on a hydration pack, but based on the wording I would say it would have to match the actual clothing pattern. Also, Multicam is not mentioned anywhere, probably because it is too new or simply not authorized. I will stick to using it for personal expeditions and maybe when the uniform changes (I’ve heard rumors for 2010 (yeah right)) it will still be good.
I’m almost positive that backpacks must be ACU, BDU, or DCU pattern or plain olive drab or plain black. Check AR670-1.
