Can an electric coffee percolator be used on the stove top? If so How?
I found an old coffee perk at good will and I wanted to take it camping then I got it home and realized it was an electric. If anyone knows whether or not I could use the original set up or if a replacement basket set will work, thanks
the caraffe part is made of enamel and I have boiled water in it on the stove the electric part is the part that doesnt work and I guess I might try to put in a regular perc basket and tube and try it, but if anyone has a real fix let me know!
I don’t know anything about machinery, so whatever I say is probably wrong.
I wouldn’t use it over a heat source unless you can remove the heating element in the bottom. The heat of the campfire would probably ruin it and possibly start a fire (ruining the whole percolator and your day).
