What is the best cooler bag to store breast milk for a long 19 hr plane ride? Serious answers only pls. Tks!?
I am travelling with my baby on a 19hr plane ride (non-stop service) and I would like to have extra breast milk supply with me and I am wondering if anyone knows which brand will be good for it. And yes, i wil still do my pump every 3 hrs on the flight since I am exclusively pumping my breasts. And pls do not tell me to breastfeed directly coz lets get over it, it didn’t happen so no need to tell me that already. Thanks in advance!!
I work for Singapore Airlines too and I know what is ok to bring onboard. I am looking for a cooler bag that works to store while I am onboard (not expecting it to last 19hrs) but something that is of a reasonable time. Any recommendations? Serious answers only pls.. tks.
Check with the airline whether they will actually let you take the breastmilk on board at all, because with the new terrorism laws, as I understand it, NO liquid whatsoever is allowed to be carried by passengers on board. It’d be a real pain in the ass for you to take a good supply to the airport with you, only to have to pour it down the drain.
If they do let you take one on board, you’ll need to enquire also about what types of cooler bags they’ll allow on board.
From a personal note, I found that the styrofoam coolers worked the best, with a frozen block underneath the bottles, a towel wrapped around the bottles and another frozen block on top. The towel stopped the milk from forming ice from contact with the frozen blocks, but the milk stayed very cool and safe. I tested it with a max-min thermometer I borrowed from work, and the temp didn’t go over 4 degree’s celsius for over 24 hours.
