New to Camping and have a few questions?
we decided we are going to try out camping with the kids. a couple questions we have is do people take their dogs with them camping, and if so, how does that work? i know the basic things like tent, lantern, cots…but are there any helpful hints or things that I should get that are improtant that I maybe wouldnt’t think about?
Our dog gets cold easy so we bring a blanket to throw over him. We also bring bags to pick up after him and food/water(also something for him to drink out of). Apart from his blanket to sleep on, and a leash, thats it for the dog. There has been a few nights when its really dark that I attach a glowstick to his collar so I can see where he is in case he runs off.
I would avoid those really thin self inflating mats. I find the ground even more comfortable then those.
Its really hard to know what to tell you without knowing what you have-but makes sure that you do not eat in your tent. The smell of the food will stick to the fabric and could attract animals to it. Also make sure you do not leave any food out-including your dog food.
I would bring tarps to set up to cover the table where you eat in case it rains.
