What car should I buy?
I have 18 and I need to go to college (which is an hour away). This is my first car, which does not have to go to extremes. My budget is 20 k (I'm paying 7k, my dad is paying my mom 8k and 5k, which is offered). I have a car that is good for Roadtrips (mostly because I'm moving states to attend college and what you like to make some trips back home, etc.). I've found these to now-2004 Hummer H2-18K (Used, Good condition and works great) 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 Hard Top-17k (used, top condition all the cars I've seen and works great) 2007 BMW X3 3.0si-10k (Used, Good, Works Well)
20k First off, if your budget has been designed in the amount of gas contained vehicles consume? These vehicles have a high consumption of fuel. Also insurance rates will be high on their age and these vehicles. if you want a reliable vehicle, buy a new one in 20k. There are a number a few there and it would be perfect for a student. I would like to see, buy and download a ton of money to repair in a short period of time. When I was a student, I went through about 4 cars in two years due to maitenance costs. I bought a Hyundai Accent (which cost me 16k) for 5 months and it lasts five years and sell it for 4k only cost me 12k over 60 months.I not have to maintain, in addition to oil changes, tires and brakes. Everything else is covered under warranty. Fuel consumption is high, insurance is low. Good luck and congratulations on your first car:)
