Could someone please let me know how much it would be on average to replace a felt flat roof?
The dimensions are approx 28 foot by 10 foot. We want the roof replaced and all building material to be removed. Has anyone had a similar job done as we have a quote but we are wondering what is the average price for a job like this. (it is a torch and felt job)
there is really no way someone could give you an accurate price with the information you gave. if i make several assumptions, i would say you should pay at least ten grand US. here in south florida it would cost closer to fifteen. iknow iknow no-one wants to see hard workers get paid well, but i’m just referring to what the bids would be around assuming you just started calling around. quality may cost more. for instance, i only sell natural permanent roofing so if you called me i would bid you a permanent flat lock copper roof at closer to thirty grand. you all probably think that’s expensive but even just one century worth of roof-replacements WILL add up to several hundred thousand dollars, not to mention all the toxic waste that will end up in the landfills, future victims of unnecessary roof replacement that pushes many further into debt, and the widespread use of temporary petrochemical roofing (torch-down, shingles, etc..) only further adds to our foreign oil dependency. if price is your only criteria for shopping a new roof, you will surely pay more in the end. or even worse, the next guy will pay for your bad decisions.
