Do I need a deposit of my pen oblique? / What you need ink?
I'm starting to learn Spencerian calligraphy, and I bought Speedball kit including a pen oblique, two types of feathers on end, but no deposit. I do not need a tank, right? I also bought Winsor and Newton Calligraphy Ink, but the black looks way too thin (gold works well). Is it the ink or me? I had the impression that metallic inks were not for the beginner, but I'm better way to get results with the metal, maybe I'm doing something wrong if I can not get black ink for the job. Do I think that adequate supplies?
said tips have an "eye" … a small hole … helps keep the ink. sure to clean the tip with a soft cloth or mild soap … perhaps an old soft toothbrush to remove the layer of new feathers. Higgins Eternal Ink is cheap and works well.
