It is a gradual laser array possible?
Matrices have already eliminated working with microwave radio waves. What would it extend to shorter wavelengths, like infrared, visible and ultraviolet? What kind of technology is required to make one? I have that we can direct laser mirrors, but I was wondering if a phased-array laser would have an advantage because they lack moving parts.
phased array transmitter side uses the principle constructive and destructive interference of an otherwise omnidirectional as a dipole emitter. The laser is not omnidirectional, it is highly directional so that "the direction of beam "is unnecessary, simple mirrors can do that. You see that all the time in supermarket scanners. phased arrays in the receiver side is used to determine directionality depending on the time of arrival of a "linear" wavefront. This is where the wave is sufficiently far enough from the transmitter or reflector to resemble a line perpendicular to its direction of travel. When performing a phased array antenna rather than the other, the delay can be calculated to give the address emission. No need to do this with a laser receiver, because you already know the exact address of the issuance of a laser beam. radio theory, the standard techniques can be extended through the region of the EHF in the IR, vis, UV, etc, but the directionality already high at these frequencies seem to phased arrays unnecessary.
