Charcoal got into aquarium water – Need help?
I currently have a Rena XP canister filter. Darn thing works great. But after 15 years of owning an aquarium, I ran into a problem I never encountered. I replaced the Rena Charcoal pack and microfilter. I must not have washed the charcoal completely out, because when I turned the canister back on, charcoal poured through the return system and clouded the aquarium water.
So my question is, is the charcoal harmful to the fish in this capacity? Should I presume it will filter out eventually?

Been there done that….. don’t worry. It will filter out in a few days. If it’s really bothersome, do a 20% water change. Otherwise, don’t worry.
