should chrysler consolidate their 2 dealerships into one dealership? should they merger with fiat.?
in the larger cities you have dodge and dodge truck dealers and chrysler jeep dealers. therefore they have to have duplicating models to benefit both dealers. exp. durango and aspen, jeep compass and dodge caliber, mini-vans, town and country and caravan etc. this would save money and offer chryslers as upscaled, dodge mid-compact and jeep as utility sport. fiat would offer super small car and diesel engines and save on retooling for new models.
The merger with Fiat won’t be enough to help the beleaguered company, although it is said Fiat’s current CEO turned the company around from wreck to profitability in a short matter of time.
As much as I love Fiats, as much as Chrysler is an engineering icon, it’s going to go the way of Packard and Studebaker and other American car companies that were once widely known and admired.
Remember, Chrysler got baled out once before in 1980. When Daimler-Benz shook itself free of the company, I figured it was a goner.
