I all online cheap Merrell except for the sale in a local store. Hi-Tec is a fair mark, but you get what you pay for. IF you go for boots, then spend much more. I opted for a better socks and breathable membranes myboots let dry on the road if submerged. I have an idea for my next purchase, but my boots Asolo show little signs of wear after hundreds of miles off-track again. I would suggest finding a boot that you like in a good outdoor shop (with sellers who are well informed), then look online for good prices. You can save big money. The best value depends on your needs: hot? Cold? Wet? Dry? Sweaty feet? Close? Wide?
