Can we distinguish two different stages of steel dispersed using a coating device electronic measurement?
For example, if have two pieces of the same type of steel, but the heat treated differently and have different distribution phase. I mean one of them has 15% austenite Reatino and the other has 5% austenite Reatino. Can we distinguish these two pieces of steel coated with a measuring device electronics (its operating principle is magnetic induction) if we have a sign that we know you have – say – 20% of retained austenite?
I shold be cheaper and may be more definitive the X-ray diffraction. But it is an active area of research, I think.
