Does this arms sale bother anyone?
On 9-11, 17 of the 19 hijackers came from Saudi Arabia, (or did they?) yet Bush and this Administration is going to sell highly accurate smart bombs to Saudi Arabia.
The projected deal involves tail kits that turn unguided bombs into precision munitions with built-in satellite and motion-sensor navigation systems.
Of course this is from the same guy (Bush) who tried to sell our port security to the United Arab Emirates right after 9-11.
Who’s side is Bush on anyway?

yes I understand your points, but Saudi Arabia still teaches very strict islamic extremist teachings in its Madrasas. Books have been reviewed that still refer to the Ideal goal of killing jews and infadels, so if they are trying to rid themselves of extremist then why are they preaching their extremist dialog?
The Saudi government had nothing to do with the hijacking of the airliners.
Saudi Arabia has a problem with Muslim extremists within its borders as do most Muslim countries.
The hijackers came from Saudi Arabia primarily because it was easier for Saudi Citizens to get into the United States than from other Muslim countries.
For that reason Al Qaeda recruited Saudi Citizens who were also Muslim extremists to go to the United States, because it was easier for Saudi Citizens to get into the United States.
What this shows is the need for extensive background checks on all people who come into this country. We need to know who is here and we need to make sufficient background checks to determine that they are not criminals and that they are not terrorists.
Fortunately we have strengthened our security procedures considerably since September 11, 2001.
We should not restrict arms sales to our allies because some of their citizens may be terrorists.
If we do that we get problems like those that we have in Pakistan where the government does not have the military equipment from the United States to go after Al Qaeda and the Taliban because of restrictions on sales of military equipment to nations that have significant populations of Muslim extremists within their borders.
Without the military equipment the governments do not have the military force that they need to get rid of the terrorists within their borders.
(edit to asker) What is taught in the Madrasas is not the position of the Saudi Government. In fact the people teaching in the Madrasas are Muslim extremists who would like to overthrow the Saudi Government and seize power in Saudi Arabia.
The Madrasas are private and are run by the Muslim extremists. The Saudi government has absolutely no control over what is taught in the Madrasas.
Unfortunately the Saudi government is not powerful enough to exert control over what is taught in the Madrasas.
I agree what is taught in the Madrasas needs to stop. Unfortunatley until the Saudi government is much stronger than it is now the government of Saudi Arabia is relatively powerless to control what is taught in those Madrasas.
If we refuse to provide military equipment to the Saudi Government, that just makes it that much harder for the Saudi government to protect itself against the Muslim extremists.
If we permit the Saudi government to fall to the Muslim extremists in Saudi Arabia then we will have real problems.
