How much should I charge for my modeling?
An amateur photogropher from where I am currently living in Stoke on Trent has asked me to do some outdoor modelling for him with varying themes. He has asked for my rates and I have no idea how much I should charge. Bearing in mind I am not a proffesional model and he is anmateur photographer. How much should I charge? I’m in the UK so it would be in sterling.
Well, if you would have posted a picture in your profile it would have been much easier answer.
Since neither of you are professionals….I would recommend a percentage of whatever he gets for your pictures. If he can’t get any money for your pics, you both wasted your time. If he does get some decent $…you don’t want to be underpaid.
Since he is taking the pictures, and marketing them for you….sort of like an agent would do….A decent starting rate for your first set might be 20-25%. He would get more than you to start.
A professional shooter, would pay you per shoot up front, because they know they can get the pics sold…or they are fulfilling an obligation to a client. And you as a professional would have an agent to take care of money matters.
