Why GE oven heating element not working replacement?
The previous tenants removed the heating element back of my GE stove (JBS55 model). I bought a GE replacement line item. It seems to fit well but not working when I turn the oven. The heating element is working or broiler. Any ideas?
One possibility is a burnt wire in the back of the socket where the element plugs in. You need (turn off the power) get to the stove, unplug and remove the back panel. And yes, the switch may be bad.
