Would jump starting 12V power tool a small lathe? I'm using once in a blue moon for this.?
I have a winch 2,000 pounds is smaller than 12V and requires a 12V power supply. I do not like to buy a deep cycle battery only to power itself. Sits in my garage and I use to pull on my ATV and motor homes. I have mounted in concrete. I will use this as 5-6 times a year. So I need a good source of energy and I'd rather not go buy a large battery. Rather, I would like a tool I can use for other things. I was thinking this jump start tool. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=39954 clip me in the jump-start cables 12V input cables and power around the lathe. The winch will run under 20 seconds. Do you think this could be done? Thanks! * Edit here is the wheel I'm using. And the power supply will run the winch. I can not run forever, but for less than 3 minutes or less. I've done this before when my engine lift and trany in my workshop with a lathe in the head.
