Which Hiking backpack?
I am looking at a gregory triconi, arc’teryx bora 80, or the gregory whitney. All seem to feel good. Which one out of all three if going up to 5 days at a time?
I’ve always liked the way the newer Bora packs look, but the weight and price seem excessive, as well as for that of the Gregory Whitney. Both of those weigh just over 7 lbs and hold 5000 to 5900 cu. in. of gear. So, if I had to choose I’d pick the Gregory Triconi. It might depend on how much gear you’re taking? But I’d like to have a look at your gear list before I’d advise you to get a 5000 cu. in. backpack.
My first pack was the Dana Astralplane and it weighed 8 lbs and carried 7000 cu in and cost $425 way back when. My current pack I made myself from Ray Jardine’s $55 backpack kits and holds around 2200 cu. in. and weighs only 11 ounces. I’m just saying, you might consider going ultralight?
