I cant twist showerhead off with vice grips?
I cant seem to take the small metal piece that fits on the valve for the showerhead. Its the piece that is round at the end, so you can rotate the showerhead.
It doesnt twice off easiler like most other showerheads do, and Ive tired everything. Ive used a wrench, adjustable wrench, using heat with a propane torch on the outside, as well as a vice grip wrench.
All with nothing. Any ideas?
Ive used anohter wrench to hold the bar make sure that I dont twist the bar coming from the wall.too much.
You must use a backup wrench which you put on the pipe coming out of the wall. Apply pressure on it in a clockwise rotation as you use a pipe wrench on the shower head which you will turn in an anti clockwise direction. Vise grips often will not do the job you need to get a pipe wrench with a longer handle to get more leverage. This “will” work if you do it this way. You need the backup wrench to allow you to use lots of pressure without turning the pipe in the wall, you only want the shower head to turn not the pipe. Good shooting!
